28 years ago, I watched my son enter a prison system where there was no parole.  I never stopped praying or believing.  There was no tens or hundreds of thousands of dollars for a lawyer.  There really was no one who cared.  Two years ago, I was given the name Lisa Spees. Although I've never met her personally after one conversation I knew she was the person that I would trust with my son's life.  She's honest, committed, caring, gives 200%, knowledgeable, she doesn't give up and truly believes in the people she helps.  She's fierce.  The first year my son was not granted parole, however I don't think that's a word in her vocabulary and her response was, "I won't give up." She didn't.  Not only did she encourage my son, she kept in regular contact with me.  Today, my son is in re-entry and will be home soon.  God bless you, Lisa.  We are forever grateful.

Lisa, I just want to tell you how thankful I am for you. You came into my life at a time when I really wanted to give up. I thought there was no hope for me. I thought no one cared but you did. You are a very kind person, one-in-a-million. You are willing to help people you don't even know. You didn't know me but you took time out of your busy schedule to help me get released from prison. But, you didn't stop there, you made it so I didn't want for anything when I was released. I am forever eternally grateful. You were definitely a godsend into my life. Just as the other people's lives you have touched. You have become a part of my family. My entire family adores you for being the good-hearted person you are. You continue to reach out to those whom have no support on the outside. For that, your blessings are on the way. Your hard work, determination, sleepless nights and enthusiasm never goes unnoticed. You constantly work hard for your clients. The work you provide for the wrongfully convicted will go down in history. You are a remarkable advocate, friend, and sister all in one. Words cannot express what you mean to me and my family for all you have done and continue to do for me. You will forever be a part of my life. This is history in the making. You are a true gem.

Dear Lisa,  

I can't say enough about how much you have helped me; in ALL the ways you have. You are a remarkable person, full of a compassion, awareness and determination to help anyone you can. You have played a pivotal role in my freedom. You have helped me most of all by helping my wonderful sister orchestrate fundraisers, create awareness, motivate us to never give up and always continuing the focus no matter what obstacles we faced! To find someone so special like you is a God send, because not everyone knows what they are doing and if they do, not everyone cares. It takes the combination of the two, you know what you're doing and care! I am so thankful God provided you in our lives. You are family Lisa. We have grown to love you as our sister. Lisa ... My Dearest friend and Supporter,

It has been such a journey for me and when I first met you I was in a waiting pattern that seemed to holding me hostage. When you first came to me in the visiting room you were assisting another innocent man Dustin Turner, but you still had enough kindness to care about how I was doing and you went the extra mile to write me. That blew me away because you showed an unselfishness and a sharing of yourself to a stranger but now friend and family. And when I walked out in 2018 you didn't stop there you introduced me to resources and my life hasn't been the same. You helped set me up to be a success. You believed in me and God used you mightily as I know he will in this new endeavor, a literal calling I believe. I love that you're a Woman of faith, friend, one woman legal powerhouse and a strong advocate for justice. Thank you for showing me and many others the Love of God through legal advocacy.

Lisa Spees helped bring much needed awareness to my husband's injustice without asking for anything in return. She is a wrongful conviction warrior fighting nonstop for numerous cases, and her advocacy work greatly benefited my husband's campaign for freedom. We appreciate all of her hard work and dedication to injustices everywhere.

I just want to thank Lisa for all of the help she gave my son and I during his case. She was very helpful at calming our emotions while explaining the process and staying on top of the attorney. reminding him of deadlines. I don't know if my sanity would have survived without her treating both of us like family.
